When first learning an instrument, it is important to establish proper habits in tone production, posture and hand position. In the beginning, we focus on using the correct embouchure to produce a sound using a proper buzz. We also learn to place the mouthpiece into the trombone and where to place our hands and fingers. Remember, your left hand stabilizes the trombone and holds all of the weight so your right hand is free to move the slide. Watch these videos for assistance and have fun! Don't forget to buzz your lips and into your mouthpiece alone every time you practice!
*I had a lot of trouble finding a trombone video that I liked. This was my favorite for our uses, though it's not the greatest. It has more information than you really need right now.
